WiFi Problem: Connecting Iphone & MBP

Postby J-Tutsi » 13 Jun 2012 14:46

Hello Guys,

i've been looking forward using griid but it seems that i can't connect.
i have the software installed on my iphone and the griid connector on the mbp. but when i'm trying to create the connection in the midi-setup my mac tells me that my iphone refused the request. i don't have a firewall running, by the way.

i'm also a little bit confused beacause of the app on the iphone. a friend told me that he had the option of auto-connect but i can't find that and when i'm clicking midi-connect in the app it looks like this:

USB MIDI
Ne (Selection off)
without text (Selection on)

what do the "Ne" and the other selection without text stand for? when i activate it the other selection without text changes to "off" and from this point i can't activate it anymore...don't have any idea what those options are for but propably there must be any sense, i guess ^^
why is there only usb midi listed and not wifi? don't wann use usb.

would be nice if anyone could help me....i want to use griid :-(

best regards

Hi
I think the 'Auto-Connect' option is the earlier version of Griid.
Please review the setup docs available from liine support.

To connect using the grid Connector selector OSC on the main page .
To connect via WiFi Midi, setup a Network MIDI Session and connect to that .
Select the appropriate ControlSurface setup for either method.

The 'Ne' is probably Network and is being truncated for some reason.
After starting your Network Session it should be visible there.
All this (except the 'Ne' bit) is covered in the Setup Manual.

Same problem here. Looks like the screen is somehow corrupted with the "Ne" text.

I have a Midi network setup and my phone is listed as a participant. But in Griid I cannot get further than this screen. Clicking "go" does nothing.

Not a great start :-(

Also says "Press start to launch Griid" and there's no interface element labelled start. Does it mean "Go", because pressing that does nothing.

Changing the toggle labelled "Ne" to ON displays "Please connect a CoreMIDI compliant device" but this text is overlapping the second unlabelled toggle, which is stuck on OFF and can't be changed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just to add that I installed the free Pad MIDI app and can confirm that this triggers midi over the network fine. So the problem appears to be Griiid. Is this tested with iOS6.0.1??

Have you tried rotating the screen with screenlock off?
You should be viewing it in portrait mode for best view I believe . .

I am running into the same issues, and tried this and it did not change anything. Do you think these issues would be resolved if I switched VoIP service providers? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!
