Live control can hear but can't speak
Hi there.
First of all, congratulations to the maker of this amazing Ableton Live controller.
And for free.. wow, good man!
Here is the story
I'm on mac 10.6.4 with Live 8.2.
I've followed point by point all the configuration (even the python 2.5.1 thing) and it works (red rectangle and all that stuff) but only in one way.
Every movement and action I'm doing in Live is visible on Live control but Live control can't... hu... control Ableton.
Any Idea?
Thank you and happy new year
François

Re: Live control can hear but can't speak
I am having the same problem with the same version of live... Would rather not have to reinstall the prev version. Anyone else seen this?
Re: Live control can hear but can't speak
I have the exact same situation on my Macbook. Most recent Snow Leopard, most recent Live, TouchOSC on my iPad receives from LiveControl but cannot control Live. Using an ad-hoc network, no firewall. I get the red ring but only one-way communication.
Re: Live control can hear but can't speak
Just solved my issue.
Turns out that for whatever reason the ports posted in the instructions were not what was set up on my machine.
Changing the outgoing port back to 5000 did the trick

Just thank you. Works perfect.

OK, I got 2-way communication working, but keys and drums aren't sending MIDI. I do have Live set up to track from LiveControl. Any thoughts on that one?
Re: Live control can hear but can't speak
Hi again.
Just like pbajzek, drums and keys don't send midi to Ableton.
There is something very strange. Instead of hearing a vsti for exemple, I hear a cheap piano sound as if the sound comes from the GM of the Mac's soundcard.
Answers?
Thank you.

Re: Live control can hear but can't speak
Mosfran, I had that too. In livecontrol I selected "TO livecontrol 1" instead of "AU DLS synth." This eliminated the mac built in piano sound, but still no key or drum response in Live.
