record button on play tab?

I find myself going back and forth on play tab and trying to arm a track. Do you think it'd be handy to possibly add a record button somewhere in the play tab? It'd easily help my work flow, have it arm the track for recording and record all in one swoop.

Perhaps, try a foot switch or a key/midi mapping....
