Heres another, it was posted a while ago but figured I'd give it it's own thread to make it more findable . ..

The Labels can be set in the init script inside the menu switch object.
Ideally the number of labels should match the number of switches.
Once that it is done and other options set the object can be locked.
This hides the internals and simply shows the selection expression.
This used the same as a standard menu ie HorizMenu_0.selection ...

Hope that makes sense.
