Control lemur fader with another lemur fader

Post by drdelasquish » 01 Jun 2014 03:58

This might sound dumb, but here's what I'm trying to do:

I normally work in pro tools, but I'm helping a composer friend calibrate his template in cubase. There are 7objects controlling midi cc's (B0) currently in my lemur template. I now want to create a fader that controls all other faders (in relation to one another).

This way, once I get the setting for an instrument, and I'm ready to record the settings, I can just nudge the one fader (or press a pad that ++x by 1 of 127, I'm open to suggestions) and move onto the next instrument.

Can anyone tell me how to do this or suggest a better way? The fader can't control the midi cc's directly because I won't be sending the same value to each cc. They need to maintain their relationships.

Thanks!!!

Having a "master" fader would be tricky for what you want.....Where will it be by default? How will it move the rest of the faders when they are all over the place? Based on what? -,+ buttons would make more sense...

The example below can get you gong....besides the typical functions, "master" fader function is NOT what you asked....."smooth" function can be though: tap on master fader and keep it tapped after randomizing the faders, the master fader will serve as a "target" value to which the rest of faders will gradually smooth out to as long as you keep the master fader tapped.....

ah well...easier trying it than explaining it ;)

Hi Softcore,

I absolutely love the smooth movement the faders have when moving the master fader in this script. Wow!

I am building 8 recordable faders controller with assignable midi Ch, CC and grouping option. Although I am done with assignable CC and channels, making the faders recordable with a reset button (a few glitches there though, trying for a rec-enable button for a fader), can you please help me with something?

I was looking to make the faders move with the master fader like in AB Faders Group 2 here - https://forum.liine.net/viewtopic.php?f ... s&start=10, but by buiding on this script that you wrote for group faders.
The AB Group Faders move along with the group fader up or down instead of the master fader serving as a"target value to which the rest of faders will gradually smooth out to

I tried everything I could to make the faders in your script move like that and even tried to write a script but no luck getting the kind of resolution you got on those faders. Where should I be looking? Can you please guide me here?

Thanks a lot!

So glad there is so much Lemur knowledge here for everyone who joined the party late.
