iPad DHCP or Static

Post by Melmac69 » 18 Sep 2012 01:35

What is the best iPad configuration for an adhoc setup?
Is one better than the other DHCP or Static? Off, Manual, Automatic)
Perhaps an image/s would clarify any possible uncertainty.
Cheers,
PC user with iPad 1 and a DWA-140 D-Link

static IP addresses have some advantages I think.
Formant+Eurorack, PPG wave 2.2, Korg MS-20, etc., EWI 4000s, QuNeo, etc., Mixbus32c, u-he, MadronaLabs, Samplemodeling, NI, etc., iPad2/4/Pro

In general I would say to go with DHCP but it does require that everything is set up properly too, and I am on Mac . .
Going with static is perfectly fine and has advantages sometimes to fit a piece in with an existing network as well.
Either way the main thing is knowing how to setup and verify that it is actually working.

Thanks for the input.
I should have included running Lemur over multiple computers?
I will look for that topic or create one.
