Lemur cubase 6.5 win 7

Post by gstew » 04 Sep 2012 00:04

hi,
I've been trying for a day or so to get this working but have had no luck yet.
I'm using loopbe30,I have 2 midi ports set up, ipad is connecting to Lemur editor and Daemon.
I just can;t figure out the routing(I think that;s the problem).
I have I have on my iPad:
MIDI targets
MIDI 1 from: PC:01 Internal midi To: PC:01. Internal Midi

I added a generic remote and imported the CC121 xml I downloaded from the Liine library.
I set
01 Internal MIDI- midi input
01 Internal Midi -midi output
and get nothing,it says in the text instructions for the template just to"set input + output to the virtual midi ports you have assigned to Lemur Midi 1"
any help would be great.
I;m using aWin7 PC,cubase 6.5 and an ipad2

thnx
G

maybe you need to use two virtual ports for one connection. One for Lemur -> Generic Remote, one for Generic Remote -> Lemur. I always use a pair of virtual ports for MIDI0, one pair for MIDI1, etc.

here are some screen shots ,I tried adding Midi0- from:01.Internal Midi To: 01 Internal midi and Midi 1 From 02. Internal Midi to 02. Internal Midi
no change,I'm sure it's something simple I'm over looking.

you are using a single virtual port for MIDI0, and a single virtual port for MIDI1. Maybe you only need MIDI0, with virtual port1+2.

hey,

I tried that but no luck. Do I need to add a Mackie device? If I have Midi0 from PC:01 internalMidi To: PC 01:internal midi set as my target in settings in Lemur on my ipad and it shows up as that in the Daemon then what should my Cubase Generic Remote input and out put be set to? Also does that screen grab of my midi port etup from cubase look right?

thanks again,

G

yes, but the Lemur connection is wrong.

Lemur out (MIDI0): virtual port 2, Lemur in (MIDI0): virtual port 1. If you need more,
Lemur out (MIDI1): virtual port 4, Lemur in (MIDI1): virtual port 3,
Lemur out (MIDI2): virtual port 6, Lemur in (MIDI2): virtual port 5,
etc.

One pair of virtual ports for each Lemur port. This applies to Generic Remote as well as for Mackie Control. Depends on the Lemur template you are using.

hey,
I tried that connection setting and it didn;t work, it's the CC121-emu-Lemur template from the site that I'm trying to get started,it says template sends via Lemur Midi 1
I just have the feeling that even though my ipad is connecting with the Daemon, its not connecting to Cubase,I don;t know,so very confused.

thnx

in that case you need

Lemur out (MIDI1): virtual port 2, Lemur in (MIDI1): virtual port 1

and the Generic Remote like in your screenshot. That should work. Alternatively you could try this template:

http://liine.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f= ... base#p6470

I know it very well. In the first post of that thread there is also a text file with detailed setup instructions.

take care,
