Backspace Key is Deleting Objects????

If I duplicate or copy/paste an object and position the cursor to rename the new object, when I hit the backspace key, 5 out of ten times it deletes the entire object. Any one else seeing this behavior?

Hi
Are you sure you are locating the cursor properly in the name field?
Using 'delete' key on a Mac I am unable to reproduce the fault . . .
Are you on Windows? Please check that you are positioning cursor properly . . .
If it continues please send details to support . . .
