Increase size of LEDs
Hi, would be great to be able to control the size of these as they can get a little lost on a hires screen.

Re: Increase size of LEDs
agreed, that could be useful. What we can do is setting one LED object to have multiple dots, so that it is better visible.

Re: Increase size of LEDs
i'm actually trying to create a circle with 64 leds in it and would like it to be more visible, so an actual increase in led size would be desirable - not quite sure what you're proposing, so would that cover it?
cheers

Re: Increase size of LEDs
obv, im using 64 separate led objects rather than multiple leds in a grid...
Re: Increase size of LEDs
I have done a few circles of LEDs and variants
Have got a few things that might help but my computer is away at the moment
It is possible to make small light objects from other things
Will try and post some stuff later in the week

Re: Increase size of LEDs
thx, that would be great
Re: Increase size of LEDs
yeah, I'm interested too.
There's a couple of things you can do with Leds object. Vertical or horizontal bundles/arrays, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, etc. clusters, and also text. Macciza did an entire text/number Leds object module, similar to old fashioned displays. See the AlphaTrack/TranzPort templates. Or look at the C4 template in the user library with Led's arranged to emulate a hardware controller encoder feedback. You can also move the Leds object in a circular way, using the trigonometric function in Lemur. There's a lot of things you can do with this tiny object.
Although I wouldn't mind to have a bigger Leds object, there's some fun and challenge with the existing object. Restrictions can boost your inventive talent. Use what you have, and use your imagination, combining all assets, and invent something new. One can say this is backwards thinking, it's technology of the 60's, but I don't think so. Think Lego. You have a couple of bricks, and for your perfect space ship construct you'd need a special brick that doesn't exist. You think about it for hours, days, weeks, and then you find a way to do it with the bricks that are in front of your nose.

Re: Increase size of LEDs
nice reply Phil
whilst I agree with your sentiment, there's always a cost, usually in time which can be more productively spent elsewhere... I have 64 led objects creating a ring - yes, i can create another 192 and put them side by side to create a larger spot (which is what im going to do), but really in this case I'd rather be concentrating on the behavioural functionality of the controller and not worrying about how to make some leds more visible...

Re: Increase size of LEDs
wow, these are a lot of Leds objects. I wonder, how does this 64-object ring look like?

Re: Increase size of LEDs
Its really hard to help without having a clue of what specifically you are after but 64 LEDs to form a ring means you might want to consider not using LEDs at all.
A huge text object with the letter "I" can easily be a LED vertical segment (?) if you just change its color with scripts.....all sorts of other objects might be considered too.
