Lemur on Android
hi i'm an owner of jazzmutant lemur and have an android tablet...ics 4.04 on it and they really really made a good job (google) . music software have nothing to envy , reactivity is here and ...then. when the lemur on android...don't resist you can't just say "oh , we will see","we take it in consideration"...blablablabla.... millions of users who don't want/like/bear/accept/know apple strategy and are reallllyy happy on their android stuff....like me.
then the real question, when?
"legacy" (i prefer original) lemur is really good but...2 lemur...yes on live i would love it.
see ya.

Re: Lemur on Android
hm, I wouldn't mind picking up an Android tablet myself. They are getting cheap now in my country. Is the multi-touch performance comparable to the iPad? I read at hexler.net that it seems to be problematic (only mono-touch?). And what about audio latency and MIDI?

Re: Lemur on Android
then.don't know wich android tablet it was but mine , a samsung galaxy tab 7 , first generation, first tablet in fact... with ice cream sandwitch 4.04 on it is just finalised.
audio latency is already not a problem, music soft work in real time, for exemple, reactable, spc, rd3 , things like battery soft react perfectly...with more than 1 touch.
for exemple "perfect piano", you can put 6 fingers on it with no problems, the 7th finger seem to do weird things on the piano. it only depend on the software code in fact. ics can handle 10 point.
midi latency ??...lol. not at all.

Re: Lemur on Android
thank you for the info. So it's only a matter of software.

Re: Lemur on Android
yep ...and marketing. but who is silly enough to think google has nothing to offer for people who want to develop on it...lol
then GO ON! LIINE! let show us how good you are.

Re: Lemur on Android
Hi
Imho the issue is not that simple -
Android and Android tablets are not standardised and compliant enough to support all of them
Or do just mean just for the latest version 4 on latest hardware only.
The different version of OS and different hardware/screen size etc creates problems also
I would prefer the devs to spend time on core lemur features rather than wasting it on Android.
Cheers

Re: Lemur on Android
yeah I think that is the problem with TouchOSC, it seems not every android device supports that kind of multitouch the app needs. I agree that it is better to keep Lemur reliably working on one platform.
I might get an android tablet if I know that TouchOSC will work on it, but I might also get a second hand iPad2 where all my apps will work.

Re: Lemur on Android
i don't think so. if the resolution was really a problem , they would never create a lemur emulator on the ipad.Macciza wrote:Hi

ipad 3 have a resolution of 2048*1536 ...and ipad 1 and 2 1024*768 .original lemur 800*600. was it a problem? no.
most of android tablet have 800*600 ,1024*600 ,1024*768 ,1024*800,1280*800 .all can support lemur original template. mine the first generation is a 1024*600 (galaxy tab 7 on ics).
really, it's easy as "why not porting it on android". google made a really good job and many developpers understand it, that's why music apps already on android are great.
when all ipad owner will have lemur on their device (and they already have it) then it would be stupid to ignore millions of android tablet customers...lol
ps: i speak only for android tab AND android tab are already all on ice cream sandwitch.
ps2 : for touch osc, i just tried it. i'm sorry i tried to put more than 8 fingers...was hard but everything work great with 8 fingers on it. did i mention that i'm on a galaxytab first generation ? 8 fingers...!!!
Re: Lemur on Android
ah that's great. Thanks again for the info, I didn't find that info on hexler.net which seems a bit abandoned and lifeless (I can't even register for some unknown reason).zengel wrote: ps2 : for touch osc, i just tried it. i'm sorry i tried to put more than 8 fingers...was hard but everything work great with 8 fingers on it. did i mention that i'm on a galaxytab first generation ? 8 fingers...!!!

Re: Lemur on Android
Hi
Don't want to get too much into arguing against Android but . . .
All those different resolutions would need to be supported in App and editor -
possibly with different screen referencing systems and conversions needed etc, ,
So is your suggestion only for current tablets running genuine ics?
And is the firstgen Galaxy running a hacked ROM perhaps . . .
These 'hacks' create further compatibility issues and should not be supported imho.
The Liine devs may view it differently but to me it's more drama than it is worth . . .
Cheers
