crashes and weird behavior when memory gets full

Post by bgerkes » 08 Apr 2012 11:07

By creating a lot of interfaces, the memory gets filled (the "bytes used" indicator in the bottom right corner of Lemur) to a point where Lemur crashes and shows weird behavior.
Just create more and more interfaces with content and save each step. At a certain point, when you open a just saved file, certain interfaces will be gone.
When reaching 100% "bytes used" memory and then adding interfaces or objects, Lemur will crash.

Hopefully these bugs will be solved, and even more important: memory will be increased significantly!

Hi
I don't think you are using the most recent software.
Check at Liine - http://liine.net/en/support/
Current filesize limit is 2M - ample for most purposes
What are you trying to do? Post an example?

Cheers

The crashes when memory reaches the limit (as shown in the small piechart at the bottom right corner of the Editor) have been identified. A fix is coming for that, will let you know as soon as it's out.

We (a friend and myself) are working on a editor/librarian for the Alesis Andromeda A6 (+1400 parameters, NRPNs, sysex etc.). We calculated the needed RAM definitely to be more than the available 2MB, based on a already finished part of that editor/librarian.

Friendly regards, Boele

Hi
With the 3.1 update the RAM limit was increased to either 16 or 32 MB . . .
Also program design/implementation can vary requirements quite a bit
Using functions and constants etc can reduce size compared to explicit coding..
Cheers

Thanks for the reply!
As you might have figured, I am not the one coding, but I will forward your info to him of course.
We'll see how it goes.
