MDC - Elektron Machinedrum Template

Post by dbk » 08 Jan 2012 17:40

Hello,

this is a template for Elektrons Machinedrum.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRVZeRJWua0

It´s my first template, so please go easy on me ;)
Please notice, CtrlAll Load and Reload Kit might work or not through a wireless connection. For some reason sysex seems to be lost sometimes over wifi. No problems whatsoever with a dedicated ipad Midi-interface like the iRig or a TM-1 with the camera connection kit. i will try to make this more reliable over wifi in an update, if possible.

The CtrlAll Machine will always be loaded to Track 13 ()M1) for now.

To make the patternchooser react to the machinedrum, the machinedrum has to send Programm Change, you can enable this in the Global Settings.

Allready got a few ideas for future versions, suggestions are very welcome.

last but not least, thanks to the members of this board, great and helpfull people like Macciza and Antonio Blanca (to name just two of them), without their help i would have been lost.

cheers,
Martin

That looks like a lot of fun (and work).

I was close to get an MD but the function button put me off(found it annoying to have to use two hands for almost any little change) and did order a tempest instead.
Now, thinking about it, a bunch off stuff could be handled by the lemur, while the tempest is still missing midi control integration ... oh well, will see.

thanks!

it was quite some work, at the end i removed a lot of functions i made over the past month, will add them again at a later point.
it took me a while to get my head around how things work inside lemur, scripting isn´t much of my world but i had a lot of fun doing this template.
the downside is that i made almost no music in this time.

i have the machinedrum since years and almost daily in use, it just doesn´t grow old on me, if i had to choose one instrument only it would be the machinedrum, i´m still exploring new sounds and technics, even more now with this template.

you should get a machinedrum, the function button isn´t that much in use anyway:)

talking bout midi and sysex implementation, elektrons octatrack hasn´t much to offer here either, hopefully they will add this stuff in future update.

Great! I haven't not a MD myself, but I have some lucky friends using it, so I will share this post with them.

Many thanks for sharing ;)

btw- it's Antonio, not Antonia (female) :P
