First version is now in the Lemur library for general download.

Even if you don't own a Yamaha synth, I'd appreciate feedback on the various UI elements I implemented. They work for me, but I always welcome comments on better/cleaner ways to do something.

bump for the next version. any/all feedback appreciated, especially with some of my UI choices. You don't need a TX-802 to play around w. the template.

Hello I like so far what you did. How do you actually connecting your keyboard? I'm using iRig and midi in/out are going straight to the TX802. How do you save your patches?

I am using an Apple Camera connector cable to go from the Lightning connector to an Emu xmidi 1x1 USB->MIDI cable directly to the TX-802 for testing. In the home studio setup, I am connecting to a merge box that merges MIDI from the MIDI patchbay and from the iPad.

Voice and Performance listing, saving, and undo are next on the list after I finish some issues with the Performance edit section. The TX-802 manual says there's 8 edit buffers, but getting to them via MIDI has been an interesting puzzle.

Having a limitation of only 256 bytes of sysex send or receive limits what can be done. Ideally, I would grab the entire internal bank and simply list the names for selecting, but that's too much data. Patch save will be a simple add, but there's always the user (and maybe me) that will want the option to save it somewhere else, so that means additional coding to restore what was there and save the edit buffer off to a new location. None of it is hard, but trying to find time to do the coding and testing is always a challenge.

Oh I didn't know that Midi merge boxes exists I gotta get one. I was looking for some cheap librarian (Motu Unisyn, Emagic Sounddiver) but nothing works on recent systems, only MidiQuest which cost more than the TX-802 today. So i was pretty happy to find your solution.

I use a MIDI Solutions merge box. Unfortunately, new they cost about $70 US. Still, it's very useful if you need it.

I have almost finished the core Performance editing and I did add a Voice Save button and cleaned up some of the displays. Hopefully, if I have time, I should be able to post the update next week. I still need to work on a way to display and select all voices and performances. Once the core is working, I'll switch over to make it work with my TX-816, which should also mean that it will work with both the DX-7 and DX-7 II

Nice, I can't wait to try it I have a one question for you. I got the TX-802 couple weeks ago. I really like the FM synthesis, but the device I have bugs me little bit with 2 things. The headphone output is very noisy and the Analog outputs are low volume. Do you have same issues with your instrument? Do you know if there is some solution to fix it (recap the capacitors, do something with power supply etc.) ? or this is standard issue with FM synths?

Does this work for the DX100 aswell?!

I don't have a DX-100. I'll check the MIDI specs for it and see if it can be adapted.

The performance mode of the TX-802 is a royal PITA. The lemur change to 5.0.1 also set me back. In the meantime, I'm working on the TX-816 version. Given all the slight variations between the DX/TX boxes, some day I'll combine all of them to produce a single editor that can talk to them all.
