Hey alloedee, Joe Soap,

nice video really! You should maybe post it also in the Numerology thread ;)
..yup, those videos are some work! However, for a Sequencomat video you do not have to be so tutorial... I am more interested in snippets of how people work with it, especially if they are quite new to it. If you are in video mood, you can maybe shoot one with the free lite version until release of 3.4... I can give 50,- discount on full version for this too.
No credits for lol cat videos ;) But if you film a cat playing Sequencomat...this combination would be worth a full release :D

greetings

Hey all,

update 99% ready 8-)
- have ported it to iPad
- tested full and lite version parallel on iPad with 14 tracks
- tested program change parallel on different synths
works fine so far....

Also had updated the manual and finshed the colore templates:
http://www.tonvibration.de/SequencomatV3.html

Image

During all test performance of new v3.4 was equal to lite version.

However - the bottleneck is the network communication:
I connect via my Wlan router to iPad (which isn´t the best idea anyway). If there is much traffic on that channel - based on my neighbours internet activity, I guess - it can happen that visual feedback on Lemur gets a bit sticky. If it is getting worse the udpsend object starts dropping packets. That doesn´t affect Midi triggering (as this is done by the maxpatch), but can end in a glitchy feedback. Within all my testing sessions during the last months this happened 2 times for about half an hour - then the phenomen was gone. It never happened with hardware Lemur, and on iPad it is the same with lite and full version, so it is not based on the new update. I just want to mention it here and suggest again to test with free lite version before getting full version. This should also not happen with an ad hoc network.

I will now make some final adjustments and
looking foreward to release Sequencomat v3.4 next week :D

I just stumbled upon this via youtube effect, threw you a quick write up on my site, awesome work man, can't believe you're only clocking in at 41%! Are you using Lemur to program the step sequencer as well or are you handling that through the max patch?

Hey all,

I hereby declare Sequencomat v3.4 as released. ;)

It took a bit longer, than I thought, but I was able to fix some long term bugs...
So now you can for instance change scales during playback on the maxpatch. In previous versions that could lead to a mismatch of slider and value on notes. You had to stop the sequencer before changing scales. However, Sequencomat was never planned that way, so due to its structure it can cause short timing irregularities, but no more mismatch of slider and value. I also fixed the bpm monitor in rewire mode, that now show the tempo in rewire host, also if you change it in the DAW per mouse.
And many more little things..... so I think it was worth that time more needed.

I have sent Sequencomat v3.4 to all users that have replied to my request.
If you are a full license user that haven´t got the new v3.4, please drop me a short note.

enjoy sequencing :D

@ Traxus
Thanks for posting my work! You also got some nice stuff...
In version 3.4 it has become 44% Lemur memory usage (on legacy Lemur, much less on iPad).
While in Sequencomat v1 (http://liine.net/en/community/user-library/view/223/) about half of code was done on Lemur (also patterns are saved as graphical values on Lemur) and only timecritical stuff was done in max. In v2 - with expanded functions - Lemur memory rised to 79%. So as I started development of v3, I was sure I had to port as much as possible to max to reduce memory needed. Now in v3 only about 1% of code is done on Lemur: Moving containers, color coding and "clear steps"... On iPad Lemur this wouldn´t be so important but on legacy it was/is a big thing. Btw: the maxpatch of v3.4 is over 6.2 MB...by far the biggest maxpatch I have seen so far.

all the best

I just have updated the manual to the latest adjustments:
online: http://www.tonvibration.de/SequencomatV3.html
pdf: http://www.tonvibration.de/SequencomatV34_manual.pdf

New video will take some time, but for some music demonstrations you can visit my soundcloud site https://soundcloud.com/tonvibration
Especially this "pattern" series was done during beta testing of v3.4: https://soundcloud.com/tonvibration/sets/pattern34
These are direct recordings from live sessions with sequencomat, mostly using only a small number of patterns and variations. No classical song structure. In pattern 17 you hear e.g. a campfire guitar playing 4 slight variations in velocity and 1 in keynote, chained in random mode on each 4th bar. These subtile changes can bring the machine somehow to life....for me. I like that controlled random, the border between iteration and variation...however, this attempt might be a bit nerdy/special .....so it would be nice to see/hear/discuss how you use sequencomat. (Therefore I am so keen on this user videos.)

Cheers and enjoy making music :D
