Hello,

These two iOS apps are supposed to allow MIDI transmissions over USB.

Has aynone tried either one with Lemur ?

Thank you in advance.

I would very much like to try them, but unfortunately no joy for us "windows" guys! :(

There's now a third app to send MIDI messages over USB. It's called Music IO.

However among the three apps, currently only Midimux seems able to connect more than one device to a common computer simultaneously. Music IO lists this feature for a future version.

I have downloaded Midimux, and the new server for windows, but, it seems it uninstalls Loopmidi (which I was using with several lemur targets to control cubase).

Anybody has tried midimux with windows yet?

I am trying to troubleshoot with the developer but no luck in windows and cubase so far. Does anybody have any success with midimux and windows?

recently tried Midimux with a Windows laptop, and it works very well. Compared to the other methods the setup is quite easy. And you can use several devices, their MIDI data can be mixed to a single output. You can use different MIDI channels for your destination for each device or app.

A big plus is that you also can connect OSC via USB cable. Certainly useful for live performances where you need a good connection. The IP for both sides is 127.0.0.1, you just set the ports for Lemur and for the destination on the PC.

If the device was already plugged in, it may be necessary to replug to establish the connection. That's the only downside I observed; it's the same with MusicIO by the way.

Controlling is getting easier. Less need for hardware interfaces and wifi setups. Or just another way to connect OSC, MIDI, and audio (with Audiomux/MusicIO).
