change midichannel Stepnote

Hello, absolute beginner here, trying to make a multichannel sequencer.

I got stuck right away as i didn't find how to change the midi channel on the stepnote.
Or rather, when i change the midi channel value it just keep receiving it in ableton on channel 1 no mather what i change.

Anybody?

Definitely check out the documentation. I might of misunderstood, but it should be your midi target you need to change, no? And there is a drop down menu next to it with the variables to choose from (I believe 'step' is the variable you want to send out right?)
Also you might be talking about changing the daemon input/output channel? If so you can change that in Lemur Daemon itself.
