How to Rotate Text

I could be blind, but I've read the manual front to back and I can't find a way to do a very basic thing like rotate text labels. I can justify, re-size, re-color, but no rotate. What/where have I missed?

I don't believe that's been implimented yet. It'd be a useful editor feature though. Suggest it to the wishlist.

For me, it's really lacking. Feature request + 1

This really needs to be said. With all due respect, Lemur is based on a code base that is at least five years old. Most developers would consider that a sufficiently mature code base. After five years, the inability to rotate ui objects in a $50 ipad app whose SOLE PURPOSE has always been to create user interfaces is inexcusable. Period. It does not inspire confidence in the future of Lemur.

Maybe no one's asked for it yet. It hasn't been on iPad (a rotateable surface) for 5 years.

re: the ipad, etc., the ipad is a platform, not an application that exists for the sole purpose of creating user interfaces/control surfaces. Lemur is. The ability to specify the orientation of a ui object is a very, very basic and fundamental consideration in ui design.

it is surely noted, and perhaps will come eventually. In my view Lemur's value lies in its functionality. Scripts, OSC, MIDI, NRPN. With that I'm happy, and vertical text or knobs are in my view just small details. I would welcome text rotation, but I would also remain completely satisfied with what Lemur brings.

Hi guys,

Liine appreciates your comments and suggestions, so sincere thanks for getting involved. As it has been noted many times in previous topics, most objects can function in any orientation (Faders, Pads, MultiSlider, etc). The only thing which can't be set vertical or upside-down is Text. This feature is certainly on our wishlist, but please bear in mind that the wishlist is VERY long. Our development effort is a limited resource and we make sometimes very difficult decisions regarding priorities. At the moment we're working on major new features, and the ability to place text vertically or upside-down is not planned for the near future. I'm sorry this is a disappointment for some of you.

Best regards,
Nick

for me the new features are definitely more important. Text rotation can come next year. :D

just purchased Lemur yesterday ... excited about the power of this app, and came to the forum to figure out how to do a vertical label... wow is this still not possible?

feels like an oversight rather than a feature request... any suggestions on space saving ways to label the Y axis of a XY pad/ multi-ball I think lemur calls it...

thanks.
