# Ports With iConnectMidi

Hi Guys,

I did check the manual but I am still looking for a definite answer to a simple question: How many ports will be available if I connect iPad/Lemur via iConnectMidi. Will I still be able to target up to 8 ports (similar to wifi)?

You'll still be able to connect to 8 sources and 8 destinations : any combination of iConnect ports and Wifi ports.

Hi Axel,

Just to be sure: if I'd only use the iPad->USB->iConnect->USB->MAC connection I will have 8 lemur-usb-ports available for/from lemur. In general I do not consider to use WIFI then. However, if I would, I could do so and mix lemur-wifi-ports and lemur-usb-ports in any considerable mix.

Hi,
I'm not familiar with iConnectMidi, it all depends wether the device creates multiple ports on the connected computer, and allows them to be accessed from the iPad at the same time. I couldn't find this information in their manual, you should probably check with the iConnectMidi support to be sure.
