Bitwise Fun
I don't know if any of you guys are doing much w/ Arduino, etc. If so this might be fun/useful. In some mcu environments (Teensy2, for example), RAM is at a premium, and it really helps to use bitmaps wherever you're dealing w/ on off values, since one byte can store 8 parameters. On the mcu side, (...

Indirect Script Reference
I'm familiar w/ the use of findobject(), getobject(), getexpression(), setexpression(), etc, etc, when using strings to reference objects/expressions in functions that need direct (literal dot-notation) address references. However, I've had no joy trying to run scripts in this fashion. Example: A sc...

Re: String Manipulation?
I hear you. I'm trying to avoid reinventing the wheel if possible, but like you, I'm learning to create my own tools as much as possible for these things.

Re: Alright, this is REALLY screwed up...
I appreciate the reply. Lemur template design has been, for me, 50% trial & error trying to find ways to code around things that don't behave according to the sparse available documentation or reasonable expectations based on decades of programming experience. Another 20% fighting with this pathetic...

Alright, this is REALLY screwed up...
Sorry for the subject, but try this and see if you don't agree, Overview: a script which randomizes a monitor's value, attached to a pad's OnExpression x Up Trigger Mode. Tha Pad is named Pad: Monitor.value = rand(); Another script, attached to a second pad's OnExpression x Up Trigger Mode, which se...

Re: String Manipulation?
There is NOTHING that I can do, including trying three different email accounts, to have this forum notify me via email of replies to my threads. Sorry, I just found this. I'd be happy to be able to do it with any type of string. I just want some rudimentary string functions, just like every other L...

Re: OSC Strings and Single Quotes
Thanks guys. As usual, no email notification of replies from this forum.
I needed to do this for different reasons, I'm using sysex to communicate with an arduino. I just gave up on my original idea and programmed around the Lemur limitation.

String Manipulation?
I've spent an insane amount of time trying to figure this out, twice through the manual and this forum, no luck... Maybe I'm blind.
How can I remove single quotes from a string?
ie ''/ContainerName/TargetName' ---> /ContainerName/TargetName
Thanks for any help.

OSC Strings and Single Quotes
Hi, Wondering if anyone her can tell me if/how it's possible to either: A.) Send string, i.e. Hello from Lemur via OSC WITHOUT single quotes, or B.) Receive an OSC string in Lemur and strip out the single quotes If Lemur has any string functions, i.e. remove n characters at position x, etc, I can't ...

SysEx MSB/LSB For Dummies
If you're trying to get your brain around the whole 'two-byte format' as it applies to SysEx parameters (or NRN/PRN, etc.) that have values greater than 127, have a look at this 'learning template'. The algorithms are not mine, scrounged them together from various threads here, but the 'packaging' s...
